Of course the European's are more anal about chemicals in food. Good for them. That isn't why they've banned these dyes. They're doing it to be dicks. And all this goes back to Heineken's aquistition of Newcastle and the subsequent ban on brown dye. This is a trade cock fight, nothing more.
Why did Heineken decide to "reimagine" the American Newcastle.

If you drill down into the reviewer comments on that page, you realize that 77 isn't a measure of happiness.
What the reviewers are doing is reviewing a beer in a brown bottle poured into a glass. That is an average beer. But looking at the comments? Are they pleased?
Was New Coke a terrible tasting cola? If it came with a blue label and was called "Shark Cola" maybe it was an average cola. But replacing a hundred year old recipe with something else makes it taste like shit!
